- Our History -
The Huntington Electrical JATC was first registered with the U.S. Department of Labor, Federal Committee on Apprenticeship, on April 3, 1946.

Then, known as the Huntington Electrical Contractors Joint Apprenticeship Committee, the JAC trained those who were either in the building or linemen electrical trades.
On June 28, 1946, the JAC was recognized and certified by the Veteran's Administration
for the on-the-job placement and training of disabled veterans of World War II.
Soon thereafter, on August 6, 1946, the WV Department of Education approved the JAC as
a legitimate training facility for electricians in the classroom and on-the-job.
On December 21, 1973, our program's standards have been registered with the U.S. Department of Labor, Bureau of Apprenticeship and Training, as the Huntington Electricians JA&TC. Today, we are registered as the Huntington Electrical JATC with
the USDOL, Office of Apprenticeship.
